On 26 September, the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (SEF) introduced news that you can only be happy about. Applications are now open for grants that will allow you to make your eco-friendly plans for solar batteries and photovoltaic panels for your home a reality. Expanding options and simplifying the process
The new programme is designed to be accessible to a broader range of applicants and to take more account of applicants’ financial and social circumstances. If you are planning to renovate your house, you can take advantage of the standard New Green Savings programme, or you can opt for the Repair Your Grandmother’s House option, which offers an upfront grant.
This new phase of the programme brings
- increasing subsidies for selected measures and simplifying administration,
- you do not need to submit invoices for the whole project,
- project documentation will only be required for certain purposes.
The support will be available not only for applicants from the Karlovy Vary, Moravian-Silesian and Ústí nad Labem regions, but also for those who own real estate in municipalities and regions supported by the state.
In addition, if you decide to combine energy-saving measures (e.g. installation of a photovoltaic system + insulation) you will receive a bonus of CZK 10,000 for each combination.
Standard New Green Savings
You probably already know the standard program. It allows for the renovation of existing houses and the construction of new houses in the most energy-efficient standard. Under this programme, you can apply for a grant for insulation, replacement of heat sources, installation of renewable energy sources, water-saving systems, a green roof or a charging station for an electric car.
The subsidy will be paid after the completion of the energy saving measures and can cover up to half of the eligible costs.
New programme – Repair your grandmother’s house
The Repair Grandma’s House sub-programme offers an advance subsidy for all those who decide to have their homes comprehensively insulated. This initiative is aimed at renovating older homes and families with children will be awarded a bonus of CZK 50,000 per dependent child, helping them on their way to eco-friendly and energy-efficient living.
New Green Saving Light
From January 2023, the New Green Savings Light programme runs, which is aimed at lower income households. This program supports simple weatherization, replacement of windows and front doors, and installation of solar water heating. It is aimed at recipients of old-age or disability pensions or housing benefits. More than 40,000 households have already taken advantage of this subsidy and have successfully renovated their homes, reduced their energy costs and improved their living conditions.
