Technology

Having quality and reliable technology is essential. It is the technology that ensures practical features, a wide range of applications and safe operation. Our battery storage systems are equipped with a range of unique solutions, from our own Rebox control system to safety systems.

Rebox

Our proprietary hardware and software solutions for battery and appliance monitoring and management allow you to store energy in an alternative way. Rebox can monitor and control batteries and appliances so that the system stores and uses energy in an innovative way. It will first use the surplus energy produced by the PV plant to charge the battery. Once it is charged, it redirects the energy flow to the appliances. This is used, for example, to heat water in a boiler, charge an electric car, etc. This device acts as a WATTrouter and also automatically alerts the service team if the set parameters are exceeded.

Rebox has two units:

Master – used to monitor the battery and inverter. It monitors and records the status of individual cells, temperature, charging and discharging progress in the Portal web environment. It interfaces with the BMS and inverter and automatically sends error messages that are evaluated by the service team.

Slave – mounted in the rack and extends the Rebox with 2 remotely switched 0-10 V analog outputs, 2 relay outputs and 2 potential-free 240 V HD inputs.

Proteng

One of the safety features that the battery storage systems are equipped with is the unique patented Proteng autonomous fire protection system. It is a completely independent system that requires no maintenance or control. The device operates automatically without operator intervention and without the need for an external power source. It uses a specially treated polyamide hose. This hose is activated when the temperature reaches approximately 70-100 °C. The system works by monitoring the temperature readings of the battery. If high temperatures or direct flames are detected, the extinguishing procedure is initiated.

In the event of a fire or a critical temperature in the enclosure, the pressure tube degrades at the point of highest temperature. This tube melts and creates an opening through which the entire contents of the extinguishing agent under pressure are released directly into the fire. The extinguishing agent HFC227ea is a liquefied gas which gases when it enters the atmosphere. Its extinguishing effects are cooling and anticatalytic. The extinguishing agent extracts heat from the combustible material and at the same time enters the chemical chain reaction of combustion, which it slows down and stops.

Cells

High-quality LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cells with the highest Grade A chemical composition come from our verified manufacturers. These cells are characterized by an extremely long cycling life, lasting up to 10,000 charge cycles. A great advantage is the negligible self-discharge and the absence of memory effect, so they can be charged at any stage of discharge. The battery cells require no maintenance. They are connected in the battery storage so that they can be accessed at any time. If necessary, any cell can be easily repaired or replaced, extending the overall life of the battery storage.

BMS

The BMS unit carefully monitors each battery cell individually, keeping an eye on voltage, current and temperature values to ensure they remain within the permitted limits. It controls the charging and discharging of the battery and balances the cells. During charging, it preventively monitors cells for overcharging, while during discharging it focuses on preventing undercharging. In this way, it ensures reliable operation of the entire battery storage system. By constantly checking all the parameters of each cell, the BMS helps to maintain the long life of the battery.

Temperature sensors

The battery storage consists of interconnected battery cells. Temperature sensors are placed at each connection between them to monitor the temperature of each cell. The sensor has a predefined permissible temperature range. If it detects an exceedance of the set value, it automatically disconnects the battery cell on which the elevated temperature was detected. By connecting the sensors in series, the entire battery is safely disconnected. Temperature sensors are therefore an important safety feature of any battery storage system.
